I hope you all
had a happy new year. Ours was boisterous and as usual
none of us will ever drink again.
If you missed
out on Christmas beef or pork then worry not! We still
have some frozen cuts of Highland beef and a few cured hams
/ gammons and bacon left over. Give us a call or drop
us an email if you want some.

available, although some cuts are now sold out. Give
us a call or e-mail to order.

Good news for you goat meat
lovers. The first of this year's goats will be
available from mid-October (around the 15th). We will
be producing the very popular billy bangers, chops, diced,
and roasts. If you fancy another type of cut we can
provide it if you let us know in the next two weeks (contact
us).
If you've never tried our
goat before, take a peek at the

Newsletter nonsense!
If you have subscribes to our
newsletter, you'll be happy to know that you have not been
purposely neglected for the last wee while. The
problem has been with our newsletter software which was
hilariously adding and subtracting letters and punctuation
like an overzealous tabloid editor. Well it was fun
for a while, but we've got a solution, so a newsletter will
be winging it's way to you very soon!
We have had our first orders
for Muscovy ducks this Christmas. If you want to

Holiday Shenanigans
Those of you have been
looking for latest news in vain for the last few weeks will
be relieved to know that things are still happening on the
farm, it's just that I omitted to mention that we were going
away on holiday!
We spend an excellent
fortnight in Gozo with friends, but we're back now and
raring to go.
We have been busy working
with some new local businesses - Gosford Bothy Farm Shop
just outside Aberlady (website coming soon), and Ghillies
Gourmet (click
here for website) both of which you should certainly
have a look at.

Ducks
& Piglets
As I said in the last post we
have decided to produce some
Muscovy ducks for Christmas this year, so I've been a
busy bee and made them their own page for your viewing
pleasure.
Clicky here to see it
Dizzy surprised everyone by
popping out 10 strange and stripey piglets. She had
not officially been anywhere near the boar, but did escape
for half an hour into his field when she first arrived...and
to think I ever doubted his sexual prowess!

Christmas Geese SOLD OUT already!
Amazingly we have just sold the
last goose for Christmas, and it's only July! In light
of this we have decided to produce some Muscovy Ducks as
well for those who can't manage a whole goose, but would
like an alternative to turkey. Details will appear as
if by magic nearer the time. (speaking of magic, I'm off to
get a copy of the last Harry Potter - see you muggles
later!)

Star Stallion!
|
 |
We're now nearing the end of our
filming for 'Arn', a film about the Crusades following a
Swedish Templar Knight . Our black Andalusian stallion
Aries has been playing Arn's horse whilst the crew have been
filming in Scotland, and I'm extremely smug to say
that he was found through this very website!
It's been an amazing experience,
but the extra early starts to get the horse ready and to the
locations are not something I'll miss too much! Having
said that, the long days are more than made up for by the
catering van on set!
At some stage I'll also have to
post the picture of me with my head shaved to be a monk in
the film (which my mother was less than happy about - we had
a wedding to go to the next day!).

Bunnies available
now!
We've got some beautiful
lion-head rabbits that are just ready to be weaned from
their mum and find a new home. If you are interested
in a pet rabbit have a look at the

| Goslings, piglets
and movie-stars!
Well it's been a
fairly hectic month and this is the first opportunity I've
had to update the site. We've had lots more piglets
born, got over 100 goslings for Christmas, and our stallion
Aries is going to be starring in a Swedish blockbuster about
the crusades! I'll tell you more about that in the
next few days because we're off to film on Thursday!
In the meantime check out

| More babies...
The first
piglets of the year have been born! Holly our Iron-Age
sow had a litter of 6, with a nice mixture of stripey and
ginger piglets. We have also just had a foal born!
The jet-black filly was fathered by our own stallion Aries.
I'll put some pictures up soon.

| Sausage Success!
Well April has
come and gone and our lamb and goat went with it.
Everyone who bought meat was very complimentary about both,
and particularly the goat. We worked with our butcher
to produce a test batch of goat sausages or 'Billy Bangers',
and they went down a treat!
We tried two
flavours; goat and chive, and goat with tomato and basil.
All of our guinea pig tasters were really impressed, so
Billy Bangers will be going into production in the near
future! I'll keep you posted when the next batch are
due.

| New Arrival pics!
At last sunny
day and fully charged camera have coincided. I'll put
a whole load of spring-time pictures from around the farm in
the
photo gallery for your perusal. We have a
super-abundance of daffodils at the mo, so there are quite
few photos with a yellow overtone.
We are still
having kids and lambs, and triplets seem to be the in thing
this season. Our bottle-fed troop of delinquents (some
below) are growing well and Maisie (also below) is enjoying
running around her new field between meals.
There's also
a little Quicktime movie of a couple of the goat kids
charging around letting the wind blow through their floppy
ears.
Click here to watch it (may take a minute to download)

| New Arrivals!
I've not really
had the opportunity to update the website for a while, but
there are several small and furry reasons for this.
Everything on the farm is either busy firing out young or
seriously considering it.
The first of our
goat kids have been born (I'll take some photos and put them
up), and we've just had a beautiful Highland calf!
Unfortunately her mother rejected her, so we have had to
step in as bottle-wielding foster parents. She needs
to be fed every couple of hours, so you can see why the
computer has been left to its own devices.
We will have
goat and lamb available for Easter, so if you want some nice
chops, or fancy trying something new, get in
contact with us

| February
wallet-bashing...
Someone must
have it in for my bank balance this month. Jan's
birthday has just passed (I gave her bee-keeping stuff),
today is our 6th anniversary, and some twisted idiot put
Valentines day next week.
The important
news is that we're going away this weekend (9th-12th) for a
romantic break (with the dogs), so we won't be available.
If you have any pressing questions or orders please e-mail
us rather than call
(contact
details)

| Love is in the
Air!
Just in time for
some February romance is an all new porky lothario in the
shape of Jasper - a Tamworth boar we have on loan. He
is wasting no time and has been seen working hard at his
allotted task!
This
months recipe is now up - delicious beef in claret that
could be enjoyed as a home-cooked Valentines meal!
Days are
getting longer again (and my leek and onion seeds are
already up!) - hurray!

| New sections!
Well not only
have I finally got round to doing something about the horse
stud (have a look
here), but I've also made a whole new section of the
website - clever old me!
The new
section is 'recipes'
where every month you will find a new recipe that Jan has
added to give you an example of what can be done with our
produce. We decided that a lot of these recipes will
be for the cheaper cuts of meat that people tend to avoid.
It's a real shame that brisket and flank aren't cooked more,
because they are every bit as tasty as a fat sirloin.
So have a look
here, and remember to check back next month to see the
next recipe!

| Happy New Year!
Well it's been
another riotous festive season culminating in one of the
best Hogmanay parties yet! Our band played to the
gathered hordes of people dressed as characters from Peter
Pan, and the booze flowed like a river in spate (in some
cases all over the floor).
We had the
great news that the local butcher who we supplied with 10 of
our free-range geese was so impressed with them that he's
already put down a deposit for 60 next Christmas!
We'll have to get a plucking machine...
There is
still some Highland beef available, although a lot of the
popular cuts are now sold out. Check the
beef page for prices and availability.

| Highland Beef selling fast!
I've just
updated the price page for the
Highland Beef since we have a
couple of different cuts this time. I've also added in
a lurid orange 'limited' marker to the availability column
so you know when we are getting close to selling out of that
product.
If you are
after a particular cut then get in touch with us a.s.a.p. to
avoid disappointment!
We also
have the Steak Sausage and Eggs 'Breakfast Bag' available on
the
Hampers page!
